This page says what Loading Academy, operated by Alwaysloading Ventures LLC, stores in your browser, what each thing is for, and how to change your mind. It goes with our Privacy Policy, which covers everything else we do with your data.

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognise your browser next time. Websites also use other kinds of browser storage that do the same job, such as local storage and session storage, and small invisible images called pixels that report back when a page loads.

This page covers all of it. Where we say "cookies", we mean cookies and anything like them.

First party means the storage is set by loadingacademy.com or our character sites. Third party means another company set it through our pages.

What we use, and why

CategoryOn by defaultWhat it doesWho sets itHow long it lasts
Strictly necessaryYes, and it cannot be turned offKeeps you logged in, keeps your session safe, remembers what is in your checkout, protects against fraud and automated attacks, balances traffic across our servers, and remembers your cookie choice so we stop askingFirst party, plus Stripe for checkout and fraud checks, Cloudflare and Vercel for security and deliveryFrom the length of one visit up to 12 months for the security and consent records
PreferencesNo, unless you allow itRemembers your choices so the site behaves the way you left it: your time zone, your video volume and playback speed, whether you dismissed a notice, and where you got to in a lessonFirst party, plus Mux for video playback preferencesUp to 12 months
AnalyticsNo, unless you allow itCounts visits, shows us which pages and lessons people actually use, where people give up, and whether something is broken. We look at it in totals, not to build a profile of youFirst party at launchUp to 12 months
Marketing and advertisingOff. Not in use at launchWould measure which ads bring people to us and would let advertising platforms show our ads to people who visited usNot in use. See belowNot applicable while it is off

Strictly necessary cookies are the only ones we set before you have made a choice, because without them the site cannot log you in, take a payment or remember what you chose.

Analytics is first party

Our analytics at launch is first party. It is served from our own domain, the data goes to us, and it is not shared with an advertising network.

We use it to answer questions like which lessons people finish, which page a signup came from, and whether a change made something better or worse. We do not use it to follow you around other websites.

Marketing pixels are not running

The Meta pixel and the TikTok pixel are not installed and are not in use. There is no advertising tracker on the site at launch.

If we start advertising and want to measure it, those pixels would only ever load behind consent. That means:

  • They stay off until you choose to allow marketing cookies.
  • Nothing about you is sent to Meta, TikTok or any other advertising platform before you do.
  • This page is updated to list them, with the date, before they go anywhere near the site.
  • Visitors who already made a choice are asked again, because a new purpose needs a new yes.

If this section still says they are not running, they are not running.

If you are visiting from the UK or the EU, you see a cookie banner the first time you arrive. Nothing but the strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose. You can accept everything, reject everything but the necessary ones, or open the settings and pick category by category. Rejecting is one click, the same as accepting, and no option is pre-selected for you.

If you are visiting from outside the United States, any marketing option is unticked by default, wherever it appears, on the banner and on our forms. You have to tick it yourself for it to mean anything.

If you are visiting from the United States, the site sets the categories described above, and you can change them at any time using the link in the footer.

We record your choice, the date you made it and the version of this page it was made against, so we can show what you agreed to. That record is itself kept in a strictly necessary cookie, which is why turning it off is not an option.

Your cookie choice is a separate question from whether you get marketing emails or texts. Those are asked for separately, on their own unticked checkboxes, and changing one does not change the other.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can change your mind at any time, and it takes effect straight away.

Use our settings. There is a Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Open it, change any category, and save. Turning a category off stops us setting anything new in it, and clears what it already set where your browser allows us to.

Withdrawing is as easy as giving. No form, no email, no waiting. Nothing you paid for stops working because you turned cookies off. The only thing you lose is the convenience the preferences cookies provided, and the anonymous count we would have made in analytics.

Use your browser. Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, block new ones, block third-party cookies only, or clear everything when you close the window. Look in your browser's settings under privacy, security or site data. Most browsers also let you do it for one site at a time, so you can clear ours without losing your logins everywhere else. On a phone, the same controls are in the browser app's settings rather than in the operating system.

Two things to know before you clear everything:

  • Deleting our cookies deletes the record of your cookie choice, so the banner will ask you again.
  • Blocking strictly necessary cookies will log you out and can stop checkout working. That is not us being awkward; the payment step genuinely needs them.

Browsers also offer a "do not track" or global privacy signal. Where a signal like that reaches us, we treat it as a choice to reject the non-necessary categories.

Cookies our providers set

Some of the companies that run parts of the service set their own cookies when you use that part. They are listed in the table above and in section 3 of the Privacy Policy. Each of them has its own cookie notice, and we do not control what they do.

If you follow a link from our site to somewhere else, such as a tool we recommend in the course, that site's cookie rules apply, not ours.

Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever we add, remove or change a cookie category, and always before a new tracker is added to the site. The version and the date at the top tell you which policy is current, and every version is kept on record.

If a change needs your consent, we ask you again rather than assuming the old answer still stands.
