We teach you to build a community, and building one takes tools: hosting, email, video, a payment processor, a scheduler, a place to put your room.

Some of the links we use to point you at those tools are affiliate links. If you click one and then sign up or buy, the company may pay us a commission.

It costs you nothing extra. You pay the same price you would pay going straight to that company. In some cases an affiliate link gets you a better deal than the public one, and where that is true we say so.

The three ways a company can pay us

There are only three, and we tell you which one applies wherever the link appears.

  1. A commission per signup. You click our link, you sign up or buy, and the company pays us a share. This is the common one.
  2. Free or discounted access to a tool we are testing. A company gives us the product, or a cheaper version of it, so we can use it and say what we think. We say that we got it that way.
  3. A flat fee to feature a tool. A company pays us a set amount to put their tool in front of you, whether or not anyone signs up. We say that it is paid.

Whichever it is, we say so in the same place as the link, on the same screen, in plain words. And whichever it is, it never changes what we recommend. A tool that pays us nothing still gets recommended if it is the better tool, and a tool that pays us well still gets left out if it is not.

Today only the first one applies. The other two are here because they might apply later, and we would rather tell you the rule now than write it after the fact.

We only recommend tools we actually use

Every tool we recommend is a tool we pay for and run this business on. If we stopped using it, we would stop recommending it, and we would say why.

We do not recommend a tool we have never used. We do not recommend a tool because someone asked us to. Payment never buys a recommendation: if a company ever pays us a flat fee to feature a tool, or gives us the tool free, it is still a tool we use, we still say what we honestly think of it, and the payment is disclosed right beside it.

A commission never changes what we recommend

This is the part that matters, so we will be blunt about it.

  • We pick the tool first, and look for a program afterwards. Not the other way round.
  • If the better tool pays us nothing and the worse tool pays us well, we recommend the better tool and link to it without a commission.
  • We do not rank, order or score tools by what they pay.
  • If we ever cannot recommend something honestly, we leave it out rather than dress it up.

If you would rather we did not earn anything from your signup, that is completely fine. Go to the company's website directly and type the address in yourself. Nothing on our side changes.

Affiliate links can appear in any of these places:

  • The course. Inside lessons, where a lesson tells you to set up a tool.
  • The free guide. In the chapter that covers tools, and anywhere else a tool is named.
  • Emails. In emails we send you, marketing and educational alike.
  • The tools page. Our permanent page listing the tools we use, which is the one place they are all gathered together.

They can also appear in posts, videos and captions on our social channels.

Every placement says so

Every placement carries a plain disclosure line, next to the link, on the same screen. Not buried in a footer, not at the bottom of a long page, not on this page alone. The line we use is:

Some links here are affiliate links. If you sign up, we may be paid a commission, at no extra cost to you. We only recommend tools we use.

You should see that line, or a wording that says the same thing, wherever an affiliate link appears. Where the arrangement is one of the other two, the line says that instead: that we were given the tool free or at a discount for testing, or that the company paid us to feature it. If you find a link with no line at all, tell us at legal@loadingacademy.com and we will fix it.

What this is not

  • An affiliate link is not a recommendation to spend money you do not have. Most of the tools we teach with have free tiers, and where a free tier is enough to start, we say so.
  • A tool paying us does not mean the tool will work for you, and it is not a promise of any result. See the Earnings Disclosure.
  • We have no control over those companies. Their pricing, their terms, their support and their privacy practices are theirs. Read their terms before you buy. If something goes wrong with a tool you bought through our link, that is between you and them, though we will help you where we can.
